Cacilda Borges Barbosa (1914-2010), Brazilian pianist, composer, teacher wrote several “studies” for the piano, this being the first in a set of 4. A wonderful opportunity for lyrical and melodic expression for both instruments, it is a fantastic duet for piano and trumpet (or B flat instrument).
